Bloodstone Necklace

£110.00

An intricate Bloodstone necklace that expertly combines a variety of skillfully crafted beads to create a unique sense of sophistication and depth.

STORIES BEHIND THE BEADS

The African Bloodstone beads are a fluid mix of mossy greens, fiery red streaks, and cracked crystals. It is believed that they were first formed when the blood of Christ trickled down the cross, staining the Jasper gemstone at His feet and changing it into Bloodstone.

Bloodstone was highly prized in Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, as it was thought to possess powerful endurance-boosting qualities that proved handy when competing in athletic activities.

The brass rings are handmade by the Ashanti people in West Africa using the ancient metal casting technique called 'lost wax'. The rings have an interesting rustic texture which adds a hint of mystery to the necklace.

Other materials used in this necklace are grey natural stone, dark grey glass crystals, and raw brass tiny beads.

MATERIALS

Brass, semi-precious gemstones, glass and wood.

JEWELLERY CARE

Brass is a natural material and will develop a patina over time giving your necklace a beautiful character. If you prefer your brass shiny, it can be restored with a brass metal polish.

All other components can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth when needed.

Your necklace can last a lifetime if stored in a pouch or box and kept away from water, perfumes and harsh cleaning products.
